The MISSION of the Old Guard Riders is to initiate, sponsor, promote, execute and support activities which HONOR and SUPPORT America's veterans, and to use such activities as a means to EDUCATE the American public about veterans and the issues that affect them.

The Old Guard Riders are actively involved in honoring and supporting every veteran. We believe that every veteran is deserving of all the appreciation and honor that they can receive. But the Old Guard Rider as a 501(C)(3) charitable public benefit directs its support to those veterans which need monetary and logistical support the most.

One group of veterans desperately in need is the homeless. As you will discover by reading the articles and studies contained within this section on homelessness and the causes of homelessness, homelessness does not equate to laziness, alcoholism, drug abuse or many of the other causes generally attributed to it. Many times these problems are connected to homelessness, but are the result, not the cause. And commonly, where these problems are associated with the cause of the veteran's homeless condition, there is an even deeper, underlying problem or condition.

Putting the reason that they are homeless aside, these men and women are foremost American veterans. For that reason, if none other, they deserve our honor and support.

In an effort to avoid costly duplication of services, where possible, the Old Guard Riders actively support other organizations and drives to provide food, clothing and shelter to homeless veterans.

Where such other organizations and drives are unavailable, the Old Guard Riders make every attempt to initiate and support such services.

As part of Operation Homeless Heroes, the Old Guard Riders initiate, sponsor, promote, execute and support such activities as:

• Food drives

• Clothing drives

• Fundraising events and activities which support food banks, homeless shelters, job training and assistance centers and other organizations which assist and support veterans in need.

• Assistance at programs and events which directly affect homeless veterans.

The Old guard Riders are actively involved in helping veterans. In order to do that, the Old Guard Riders needs your tax deductible donations. Please give generously.
