Old Guard Riders As An
Organization
First, and foremost, Old Guard Riders Inc is a 501C3
non-profit tax exempt charity. Secondly, the Old Guard Riders is a
motorcycle association.
Old Guard Riders Inc. is not affiliated with any private,
corporate or government entity and receives no money from any such
affiliation. OGR is entirely dependent upon public donations and its own
fund-raising programs.
The primary focus of the Old Guard Riders is to provide
relief to ill, aging, homeless, disabled and disadvantaged veterans and
their families. All activities initiated, organized, coordinated sponsored
or conducted by the OGR are in accordance with this objective.
Old Guard Riders Inc. is a grass roots, volunteer service
organization. Old Guard Riders has no paid officers or staff.
Membership in the OGR is open to everyone, regardless of race,
color, creed, religion, gender, political affiliation or any other federally
protected status.
The Old Guard Riders is not a veteran's organization and is not associated
with any government agency.
Old Guard Riders Inc. makes no attempt to supercede or replace any existing
motorcycle club, group or association, or any o The Old Guard Riders makes every attempt to
support the efforts of other organizations, motorcycle or otherwise, in
their charitable efforts. To the extent that we are aware that such events
are planned, OGR will gladly post such events on our website calendar and
make every attempt to support such activities. As A Motorcycle
Association
As a motorcycle association, members
of the OGR participate in activities that support the mission of Old Guard
Riders Inc. as well as the greater motorcycle community at large.
The Old Guard Riders is NOT a
motorcycle club. Membership, as well as participation in the activities of
the association, is available to everyone regardless of gender.
The patch of the Old Guard Riders is
bought, not earned.
All makes and models of motorcycles
are welcome. The motorcycle must have sufficient horse power to operate
safely at the speeds and under the conditions which may be reasonably
expected during the activities of the association.
We are strictly a non-territorial
association.
We are a neutral association and do not wear
any MC support patches.
The Old
Guard Riders maintains a website and a forum strictly in accordance with the
mission of the Old Guard Riders, a non-profit, public benefit.
Additional Note
Old Guard Riders Inc. is not a casual riding group. We
do not ride strictly for fun or at our leisure. Members of the Old Guard
Riders are asked to be active, committed members of the association and the
community at large.
Old Guard Riders promotes and encourages an atmosphere of
camaraderie among its members that bonds its members together in a unity and
friendship that supercedes the casual friendships of the leisure riding
association. We are family and a team.
As members of the Old Guard Riders:
we maintain our focus on the purpose of our mission and
we do not let politics, personal egos or other petty influences interfere with our efforts
to accomplish the mission.
we do not wait for the needs of those we serve to come to us,
we actively strive to anticipate those needs and be prepared to provide for
those needs as they arise.
we do not ride or endeavor for our own pleasure. We ride and
endeavor to honor those who have given so much and to whom honor is due, and
in many cases those to whom honor is long overdue.
The Old Guard Riders asks its members to make a commitment to
the organization, its mission and its fellow members. This is NOT a casual
riding association. There are plenty of those already out there.
Old Guard Riders asks it members to be willing to give of
their time, their money and their talents to accomplish the mission of the
organization.
"Service to others is not convenient. It does not come when
we choose. It comes when someone else desperately needs it."
Why does the Old Guard Riders exist? Its very simple!
America's veterans are in desperate need of assistance.
Everybody is sure that Somebody is going to help.
Anybody can help. The veterans deserve Everybody's
help, but Nobody really wants to get involved. Besides, it's Everybody's
responsibility. By the time that Somebody realizes that
Nobody did what Everybody should, it will
be too late to help disabled, aging, homeless and forgotten veterans who
helped preserved our freedom.
It always ends up that Everybody blames Somebody when
Nobody does what Anybody could.
Anybody can make a difference.
As members of the Old Guard, we want to be Somebody who does.
