Women making a difference Honor The Sisterhood is committed to honoring all of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines. Members of The Sisterhood, with the Old Guard Riders, attend the military services of America's fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines in order to honor these men and women for their sacrifice and support their grieving family. The women of The Sisterhood are committed to being there for the grieving family members and providing whatever compassionate care and service may be required. Members of the The Sisterhood are committed to making themselves available to the grieving family for as long as may be needed. The Sisterhood is involved in a variety of activities that recognize veterans, both individually as well as collectively, and honor them for their service to this great nation. Some of the activities of The Sisterhood include social and community events, visits to hospitals, nursing homes and veterans' facilities, educational institution visits, memorial rides, and any other activities or events that The Sisterhood may be requested to attend. To the homeless, aging, disabled and hospitalized veterans, there is no greater gift than a compassionate ear and a reassuring voice. The greatest gift The Sisterhood has to offer these veterans is the gift of our presence. Support The mission of the Old Guard Riders Inc, as a tax exempt, non-profit corporation, is primarily a charitable benefit organization. That means that the primary mission of the Old Guard Riders is to initiate, sponsor, promote, execute and support activities which raise as much money as possible in support of the charitable programs of both the Old Guard Riders and other federally recognized 501(C)(3) organizations. The Sisterhood is committed to creating its own wholesome, unique fundraising activities in support of the Old Guard Riders and its programs. In addition to fund-raising, The Sisterhood is committed to "hands on" participation in veteran related projects, such as supporting homeless shelters and food banks, holiday meal service programs, Christmas toy drives, food and clothing drives, etc. Educate One of the Old Guard Riders Inc.'s greatest focus is education. Part of that educational effort includes working closely with young men and women who are being introduced to veterans in such places as hospitals, nursing homes and other veteran's facilities. The Sisterhood is committed to insuring the safety and wellbeing of the youth throughout the experience and providing the best possible opportunity for the personal and educational interaction of both the veteran and the youth. Sisterhood The underlying Mission of The Sisterhood is clearly stated in our name - "The Sisterhood." The greatest Mission of The Sisterhood is to develop bonds of friendship and sisterhood between our members that extends far beyond the Mission of the Old Guard Riders.
